Sillem's mountain finch : ウィキペディア英語版 | Sillem's mountain finch
The Sillem's mountain finch or tawny-headed mountain finch〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?lang=EN&avibaseid=4C9486AE8D34946B )〕 (''Leucosticte sillemi'') is a species of finch in the Fringillidae family. It is found only in China and was only known from two specimens collected in 1929 from the Aksai Chin area of southern Xinjiang Autonomous Region. In 2012, it was confirmed that the bird had been photographed by a French nature photographer, 1500 km from the original collection location.〔Pitches, A. (22 October 2012). (Tibetan mountain finch rediscovered after 80 years ). ''BBC News''.〕 A study then determined that this species is actually an atypical rosefinch and not a mountain finch. The study is described in a yet-to-be-published issue of Ibis. The species is named after Jérôme Alexander Sillem, a Dutch bird collector who was a member of the expedition that collected the specimens in 1929. ==References==
